Blogmas Day 4- The Inheritance Games Series Review! Writing an alternate ending to 'The Hawthorne Legacy'
Upon finishing the book, 'Inheritance Games', and it's sequel 'The Hawthorne Legacy' I immediately searched up the series in hopes for another book. And yes, my wish was granted-kind of.. The third book of the newly popular series is in the writing and hasn't been published yet:(
I picked this book up at Barnes and Nobles and thought it sounded interesting, and only after finishing the books and researching did I realize how popular it was, especially amongst booktokers and youtubers.
The main character is a girl named Avery, a normal girl whose life gets turned upside down overnight, when billionaire Tobias Hawthorne dies and leaves Avery virtually his entire fortune. Despite having two living daughters and four handsome grandsons before he died he decides to leave all of his assets and money to Avery. The catch, though, is that she's never heard of this family, has never seen the man in her life, and is all of the sudden pulled into this rich family. Ever since they were little, Tobias Hawthorne liked to play games with his grandsons, and the four dangerously magnetic brothers believe she is their grandfather's final puzzle...All the while, Avery is trying to figure out the answers as to why, she, out of all the people in the world, was picked.
The plot itself was very interesting, and the way it was delivered through mystery and games, along with a side romance and humor was well-balanced. You can't help but love the quick-quitted Avery, and the clue-after clue story did not lose pace which was crucial in keeping the story suspenseful. The story had so many different feels(serious, light, etc..) and the twists and turns leading to the answer to the question: 'Why Avery?' just kept me reading. As I said there's a little romance as well: A love triangle. To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of romance, and though it felt cliché (two brothers fighting over one girl..), I definitely liked seeing Avery's perspective because it felt relatable and real. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book, because the book is very suspenseful, and when I finished it I desperately wanted to know what would happen next...
Now, I thought it would be interesting to write an alternate ending for fun, but I know I wouldn't be able to finish by the end of today, so make sure to keep tuning in the Blogmas, as I'm going to try and write and post it sometime this coming week! See you guys tommorow...and let me know if you read the book!
