August Bullet Journal Setup🌄
Bullet Journaling. You've probably heard of the aesthetic, picture perfect planning method that can CHANGE your life-well yes I decided to try it! I got a bullet journal, and some of those pretty calligraphy pens to really try this organization trend out. Being my third setup I've done, I think bullet journaling can be pretty helpful-it lets you be creative and organized at the same time. I like bullet journaling so far...only thing is that since I've started bullet journaling during summer, I have more time to create layouts and actually use my bulllet journal...when I start school though, maybe my bullet journaling will look a little different? I will truly know if bullet journaling actually helps when my schedule becomes hectic..so stay tuned :)
That completed my main page. Side note: To the upper right hand corner, I drew two green strips of 'washi tape'. I don't have any, so I just drew them!
Anways, this is my August Bullet Journal Setup... I decided to take to the Internet and recreate the first layouts I find. So yes, this is'nt my own unique setup, but a recreated setup from a layout inspiration I find. I first looked for what my cover page was going to look like..
The first one that popped up on my screen was this polaroid setup, which honestly looked really clean and simplistic enough for me to recreate.
I started off with creating a rough sketch, as you can very faintly see. I always start off with a rough sketch and then go ahead with my pens, because honestly if you mess up with your pens...there's no turning back. Very dramatic, but true...
I went in with my calligraphy pen(Tombow Fudenosuke) and wrote 'August'..under that I used a light green Crayola supertip and wrote August in cursive. Then I of course outlined the polaroid and any other details, before going in with my colored pencils. I drew very simplistic designs( clouds-sunrise-plant) with the picture box and colored in the rest of the polaroid with an almond color.
For the second page...I may have side tracked as I did my own design...I used the shade of green for this setup after the light green cursive writing on the main page. To the top left corner, I have a mood tracker...and basically they're clouds which I can shade in different ways to describe how I'm feeling. Next to that I have a 'Tasks'.. pretty self-explanatory. And under that I have a mini calendar for August and a random sheet of paper with two stickers holding it down. I didn't know what else to add there!😂
That completed my main page. Side note: To the upper right hand corner, I drew two green strips of 'washi tape'. I don't have any, so I just drew them!
Next, I wanted to find a month or week layout, which I can use on a day to day basis. The first one I saw was this august month....so I went ahead and recreated that.
As you can see, I started off with making a rough outline...I'm not the best with straight lines and that's why I think it's very important for me to use a ruler and get a rough sketch out first.
I went ahead and outlined everything in black pen with my ruler...for the days of the week lettering, I used these letter stencils from my ruler-to get a typed up lettering look. The second picture: I made a mistake with the lines and to cover that up I just made a think outline with my black supertip.
After finishing the lettering and outlines, I decided to use watercolors to give the background a different look. I'd never tried watercolors in this book before, but as much as it looks great-the paper did'nt handle the watercolor so well.
The page curled up and the watercolors made the Crayola supertips bleed through-literally ruining the front page's look.
Its no use crying over spilt milk though...the layout did'nt turn out too bad, and it was fun to try watercolors with my bullet journnaling. This layout was very random, yet fun and my rating would be a 8/10!
