Sorry bloggers, I tried vlogging!📸
Hey guys! I tried vlogging! Yep, I took a slight break from blogging to try to vlog during my last week of school, which lead to the start of summer. I've always liked to edit videos and photos in general, and who doesn't want to be like those cool YouTube vloggers?
..Just me?...
Making fun little videos of small art projects was something I did whenever I was bored during quarantine, but just making videos weren't enough, editing was something that definitely had to remember to do.
So, blogging or vlogging?👇
Granted, there are some pros and cons to both...but let's see.
Are you more likely to sit and read blogs or watch vlogs?: we can see that our audience plays a role. Nowadays, I don't know many people who actually read blogs, or follow them regularly. We obviously have our big blogs, like Business Insider and BuzzFeed, but what about us smaller bloggers? The pro about vlogging is that, in a way, there is a much wider audience, thanks (mostly) to YouTube. Now, don't get me wrong, it is quite helpful to search up something like, "Things to do when bored" and find many results of blogger's recommendations. Yet, for example, some people would rather watch a video of a baking tutorial than a written recipe. So yes, we all have our different opinions and which we prefer.
It is'nt always about the audience though, it's also about our personal preference. Writing blog posts to me, like a hobby, is fun! Others use YouTube to, as an example, show tutorials. Which are not the easiest to put in words. Making videos is a hobby just like blogging, but also a job. We realize that some people are full time bloggers or vloggers, varying in preferences and platforms.
Now, my personal, pros and cons of vlogging that I experienced.
Pro: Firstly, I feel like the biggest thing about vlogging that I love is that you can literally see what’s going on through video. Amazing, isn’t it?
It allows the audience to visually see what’s going on and gives something for you to look back on
Con: Editing. Editing despite being fun, it can be time consuming. And for the people, who don't like to edit or don't see editing as their strong point, it'll definitely be an obstacle.
Pro: The current fad right now is vlogging, and though editing can be difficult, finding editing platforms and making videos are easy.
Con: Keeping up with recording. I tried vlogging my week, and sometimes it was hard( especially if I went out) to blog everything. And for the people who like to live the moment it can be hard to always take out your phone or camera and vlog.
Pro:If you think about vlogging from the audience factor, there is more of a share factor with videos than blog posts. I didn’t really post my vlog anywhere, as I was just trying to get a feel of what it would be like being a vlogger.
Con:Also tying in with the previous one, for people who want to post vlogs can have a trouble with showing their face to the entire world.
So would you rather be a vlogger or blogger ? Or maybe both? I’ve seen many blogs with videos, so maybe their so much better together? Stay tuned for a VERY EXCITING blog post coming up.
HINT: 🛣🚙
