Traveling During 2020🛫

Happy New Year!! It's finally 2021, thank god! Most of us-actually scratch that- ALL of us are happy this truly sad year is finally over. We are all just itching for a new start, maybe you have high expectations that this year we can finally go back to the way we were  . .. or you just have pretty low expectations for this year, but with whatever expectations you have let's make the best out of it!

So, during winter break(2 weeks), I travelled to Florida. And for the many people staying at home, eager to get out into the real world we felt just like you. My family and I decided to just do it, get out, BUT be safe and take as MUCH PRECAUTIONS AS POSSIBLE. Yes, we were not just going to barrel out of our house with no precautions, hear me out. I am going to take you through my journey to Florida, step by step, and tell you about precautions you really need to take to ensure a safe trip. We came back around 2 week ago, and we don't have any symptoms by the way, so taking all these precautions were beneficial! Better be safe, then sorry.

We start our journey with packing . . . my family and I travel a lot, so it was nice to get the suitcases out, and feel the excitement of traveling again. There were some new crucial things we needed to pack

- Masks😷

-Hand Sanitizer🧼

- Shields🛡👇(Which I will talk more about)

Masks, which are very important, are mandatory at the airport. Shields aren't, but keep you much safer. Shields protect the eyes as well as the nose and mouth. . . . all the places that need to be protected. I think if you are travelling on a plane, and you want to keep extra safe . . .  Shields really work.

I also recommend using your own car to the airport, as cabs can be dangerous. You never know how well it's sanitized or who previously sat in the cab.

Now, once you reach the airport, it's time to put on your mask . . .be ready to wear your mask for around 6 hours! Going through security, on the plane, baggage after that, and getting a car took around 5-6 hours. It was definitely a challenge, but it was necessary.  The airport, and plane were both sanitized well, and to admit . . it was hard on the plane with our masks. We didn't eat any of the condiments served, because we had to take off our masks, and we didn't really use the seat-front table, or touch any places around us. Right after we seated ourselves in the plane, we brought out the wipes and literally sanitized the whole area around us.

After we got off the plane, and into the Ft Lauderdale airport, we got a car and drove to the house we were going to be staying in. Over the course of the week, we really just relaxed at home and went to the beach. Because of covid, we didn't want to go around and sightsee in crowded places. We went on many drives, especially during sunsets.
The area where we rented our Airbnb, was very safe and homely. Whenever we went to the beach, everyone was spaced out. And in public parks, many people wore masks.
Since we were home a lot, we kept playing games . . I definitely think it was the most games I've ever played in a short span of time! We played Mafia, which was definitely a highlight of the trip, many card games, Bamboozled, and Jaipur.😂
It was such a nice break, and was WORTH IT!!! It was a memorable trip, cause we travelled in 2020!
